ABOUT THE BOOK When 17-year old J. steps off the plane at Malmo Airport, The Alexandra Man is waiting for her. He has got a red rose in his mouth. It’s “Alexandra” who has used the internet to convince J. to come visit Atheer Al Suhairy. He wants to buy sex. Afterwards he thinks the weekend was perfect. She describes it as a nightmare. In April 2007, while denying the allegations, 31-year old Atheer Al Suhairy was convicted and sentenced in what became Sweden’s biggest internet sex scandal to date. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison for sex crimes involving nearly 50 young girls and for having used the female alias “Alexandra” online. In the book The Alexandra Man he gives his own version of what happened. So does J. as well as five other young girls. They recount stories of hour-long online chats with “Alexandra”, of sex dates with Atheer Al Suhairy and about a society and grown-up world which has completely abandoned them. |
